Discussion topic: Equality Act 2010, discrimination and prisoners rights

Guest speaker:  Louise Curtis, Senior Lawyer, Equality and Human Rights Commission

Louise will provide an overview of discrimination issues facing prisoners, including areas ripe for challenge and any relevant caselaw.  Cases to be considered include issues such as religious discrimination (Bashir) and the unlawful distance learning policy at HMP Wakefield.  We will also invite contributions from practitioners experienced in obtaining funding for these sorts of cases and discuss tactics in this respect.
